Sophomore Sage Ono led the Emory University Men's Swimming and Diving program on the third night of competition, earning the Eagles' sixth event titles of the 2018 NCAA Division III Championships.
Ono, a five-time relay national champion, claims the first individual title of his career, winning the 100 Backstroke in a time of 47.62. His finals mark tied the school record set by Ross Spock in 2014.
The Eagles added All-America honors on the evening, finishing in fourth place in the 800 Freestyle Relay as juniors Thomas Gordon, Alex Kohlman, Matt Rogers and freshman Kellen Stillman posted a time of 6:35.45.
Rogers and sophomore Evan Brock also represented the Eagles on Friday with Brock placing 18th in the 200 Butterfly (1:50.13) and Rogers finishing 19th at 49.93.
With one day of swimming events remaining, Emory finds itself in a dogfight for second place in the team standings. The Eagles have scored 250 points through three days and are followed closely by Kenyon (243) and Johns Hopkins (234). Denison University is still leading the field with 452.5 team points.
