Baseball

Greg Tobin (Brandeis) earned the win against Worcester Polytechnic Institute, giving up one earned run and six hits over 6.2 innings, striking out five… Scott Kutschke (CWRU) posted a 2-0 record and a 0.71 earned run average, yielding one run and nine hits, while striking out 14 over 12.2 innings of relief… Jackson Grayson (Emory) hit .538 (7-for-13) with two runs scored, two runs batted in, and walked seven times over five games. Jack Moore tossed eight innings, giving up one earned run, in an 8-2 win over Middlebury College on Sunday… Caleb Durbin (Washington) hit .545 (12-for-22) with eight runs scored and three runs batted in.

Women’s Golf

Carnegie Mellon won the title at the Jekyll Island Collegiate Invitational, breaking the three-round program record by 26 strokes… Julia Dai (Washington) shot a two-day total of 148 to earn all-tournament honors at the George Fox University Westbrook Invitational, leading the Bears to a runner-up finish.

Softball

Nicole Doyle (CWRU) batted .474 (9-of-19) with three runs scored, four doubles, and four runs batted in as the Spartans posted a 4-2 record… Madison Schaefer (Emory) posted a 2-0 record and a 1.75 earned run average, giving up three earned runs in 12 innings… Taylor Arends (Washington) hit .435 (10-for-23) with seven runs scored in a 4-4 week for the Bears. Abby Graegin (Washington) recorded a 1.31 earned run average in three appearances.

Women’s Tennis

Lindy Cornwall (Carnegie Mellon) posted a 4-0 record, winning at third and fourth singles and No. 3 doubles with two different partners…Madeleine Paolucci (CWRU) posted a 4-1 record at No. 1 singles in the Spartans’ 3-2 spring break trip to Florida.

Men’s Tennis

Adam Tzeng (Brandeis) finished a combined 5-1 in singles and doubles in a 2-1 week for the Judges. He earned a victory at third singles against defending NCAA champion Middlebury College… Sahaj Somani (Rochester) won all four of his matches at No. 5 singles in a 3-1 California trip for the Yellowjackets.

Women’s Outdoor Track and Field

Lindy Cornwall (Carnegie Mellon) broke the program record in the discus (38.25 meters) in her first collegiate competition. She broke the mark on her first throw, but topped it with her third toss… Grace Kemerer (CWRU) placed second in the 3,000-meter steeplechase (12:10.86) at the Washington & Lee University Track and Field Carnival.

Men’s Outdoor Track and Field

Dominic Oddo (CWRU) won the long jump (6.81 meters) and ran on the 1,600-meter relay that took first in a time of 3:24.03… Grant McCarthy placed second in the 10,000 meters (32:14.96) at the Washington & Lee University Track and Field Carnival.
