Washington University in St. Louis sophomore guard Jack Nolan earned 2019 National Association of Basketball Coaches (NABC) All-Central Region Second Team and D3hoops.com All-Central Region Third-Team honors, as announced Wednesday. Nolan was the D3hoops.com Central Region Rookie of the Year last season.
Nolan started all 25 games at shooting guard and led the team averaging 16.1 points per contest. He scored in doubles figures in 21 of 25 games, including a career-best 26 in season finale vs. the University of Chicago Feb. 23. Nolan also connected on 42-of-45 free-throws (93.3 percent), including 30-of-31 in conference play.
Nolan, a first-team all-University Athletic Association (UAA) honoree, ranked second in the conference in steals (1.6), third in three-point field goals made (69), fourth in three-point field-goal percentage (.423) and fifth in scoring. He was named UAA Athlete of the Week on Nov. 26 and Feb. 25, and earned D3hoops.comTeam of the Week honors on Feb. 25. Nolan also was named the Nicholas Investments Thanksgiving Classic MVP and a member of 35th Annual Lopata Classic All-Tournament Team.
Head coach Pat Juckem led the Bears to a 17-8 record in his first season at WashU, and finished in a tie for second place in the UAA standings with a 10-4 mark.
