Four UAA teams are ranked among the top-10 men's teams in the United Soccer Coaches preseason poll. University of Chicago and Brandeis University are each ranked in the top four.
UChicago, ranked third in the preseason poll, reached the 2017 NCAA semifinals for the second time ever and posted a 19-2-2 mark. The Maroons' historic season featured new school marks for most victories, goals, assists and points. Four Maroons achieved All-American status, in addition to four All-Region selections.
Brandeis is coming off back-to-back appearances in the Final Four of the NCAA Division III tournament and is one spot below the Maroons in the preseason rankings. The Judges have reached the Sweet 16 of the tournament in six consecutive seasons, the second-longest active streak in Division III.
Emory University will enter the 2018 season ranked eighth in the United Soccer Coaches poll. The Eagles are coming off a historic 15-5-2 season, reaching the NCAA Elite Eight for just the second time in program history and first time since 1988.
A strong 2017 has University of Rochester ranked ninth in the preseason poll after finishing with a 14-4-3 overall mark, 4-2-1 record in UAA play. The program earned its 18th bid into the NCAAA Division III Tournament, ultimately reaching the national quarterfinals before falling to eventual national champion Messiah.
