Four UAA Student-Athletes Set to Compete at 2019 NCAA Division III Wrestling Championship

Two student-athletes each from University of Chicago and NYU will compete in this weekend's NCAA Division III Wrestling Championship in Roanoke, Virginia.

Freshman Ben Sarasin became the Maroons' first regional champion since 2015 when he captured the 174-pound weight class at the NCAA Division III Upper Midwest Regional Championship. He earned the sixth seed and will open his championship on Friday against Haydn Kinjorski of Olivet College.

UChicago junior Kyle Peisker, who placed third in the regional at 184 pounds, will await the winner of the match between second-seeded Jake Ashcraft of Ithaca College and Cody Baldridge of North Central College for his first bout.

Juniors Evan Drill and Dylan Dwyer of NYU finished second and third, respectively, in their weight classes at the NCAA Division III Northeast Regional, hosted by Johnson & Wales University.

Drill, a 2018 All-American and the 2019 UAA Most Outstanding Wrestler, will face fourth-seeded Clint Lembeck of Loras College in the first round at 141 pounds on Friday.

Dwyer, wrestling at 157 pounds, will begin competition against undefeated and third-seeded Kaidon Winters of Rochester Institute of Technology.
