Case Western Reserve University graduate student Cassandra Laios concluded competition at the 2019 NCAA Division III Indoor Track & Field Championships on Saturday at the Reggie Lewis Track and Athletic Center in Boston, Massachusetts.
A day removed from placing fourth in the weight throw, Laios narrowly missed her second all-America honor of the meet, finishing ninth overall in the shot put. Her throw of record came on her first attempt of the day, as she hit a mark of 13.54 meters, good enough to qualify her for finals. However, she was unable to better the mark, and finished just one spot out of all-America honors.
Laios' five points scored on Friday helped the Spartans place in a tie for 43rd-place at the meet.
