Senior Emily Bryson of Brandeis University and graduate student Cassandra Laios of Case Western Reserve University earned the top honors as the UAA announced the award winners for the 2019 UAA Indoor Track and Field Championships.
Bryson, who was named Most Outstanding Performer for running events, finished first in the 3,000 meters (9:48.13) and the mile (5:02.74), while also anchoring the victorious distance medley relay that won in a time of 12:08.81.
Laios, the Most Outstanding Performer for field events, swept UAA titles in the weight throw (17.92 meters) and shot put (13.66 meters).
Isabel Maletich of University of Chicago was named UAA Rookie of the Year after winning the long jump (5.62 meters). She added a fifth-place finish in the triple jump (11.05 meters) and an eighth-place finish in the 60-meter dash (8.17 seconds).
Head coach Jeff Stiles of Washington University and his staff were named UAA Coaching Staff of the Year for leading the Bears to the women's title.
